On Time-outs

Cameron is old enough to know when he makes wrong choices. We know this because he gets this look in his eye that tells me he wants to be naughty. So, we introduced time-outs. He doesn't get them very often and he doesn't have to sit for very long because he is only 20 months old. Mostly, it is because of hitting, kicking, throwing, and deliberate disobedience. Cameron likes to push buttons on the computer. He loves to push the power button, shut it off, and laugh. It takes about 15 minutes to restart the computer so I started giving him 3 chances when he pushes buttons on the computer. Sure enough, he got the naughty look and had a time-out. He sits on a green rug in front of the basement door. Sometimes I have to put him back on the rug, but mostly he has learned to sit.

He already had one time-out for banging on and pushing buttons on the computer but I guess he thought he needed another one. He walked over, looked at me to see if I was watching, then he stepped on the computer. He then proceeded to walk over to the rug and put himself in time-out. He hasn't touched it since.

Nice.

I finally got to catch up and read everyone's blogs! Evan thought Cameron and the balloon was hilarious. And....when he saw Aunt Melissa he said mama....guess he thinks we look alike.
