Have you ever been so engulfed with a book that you couldn't put it down until you finish it. I have done that before with a few books. I was reading this book for the book group that I am in and I had no idea what I was getting into when I started to read this. I spent 5 hours staight, not even going to the bathroom, finishing this book. I somewhat remember seeing this on the news in 2001, but I didn't know all of the details. I cannot imagine going through what Gracia and her husband, Martin, went through being held captive in the Philippine jungle for an entire year. Would I have handled that with as much grace and dignity as they did? Probably not. I pray that their story touches many lives as a result.

Yes, I am aware the book has been out for several years and you all have probably read it twice.
