They prepare you for a lot in Driver's Ed. They teach you how to parallel park, do turn abouts and warn you how dangerous snowy roads and wet leaves can be. What they don't warn you about or teach you how to handle is runaway tires that come off of another car and are heading your way. Now, Jake and I have hit our fair share of things and animals, but never a runaway tire. We were coming on a stop sign and I just happen to see it rolling our way and it was scheduled to hit us in a matter of seconds. I had just enough time to say, "Jake, there is a tire coming at you, you had better move!" I am not sure how he did it, but he managed to move the car in such a way that the tire missed us and we did not bump into anything else. It was moving pretty fast and probably would have left a good dent if it hit the car.
The part that I will never forget is the look on the man's face who lost his tire. I have had my trunk fly open on the interstate, had my car break down in busy places, but I have never lost a tire that was about to slam into another car. His eyes were about as big as tennis balls and the look on his face was that look you might make if you asked somebody when the baby is due and there is no baby. Then you may go on to talk about the pandas at the zoo having a baby. Anyway, he had that look and it was so funny. We stopped to assist him and he was a nice fellow. I hope he always keeps all 4 tires on from now on.

I sympathize with the guy, I myself have not lost a tire. However, considering the way things have beeng going these last four years with my luck, I would guess it will happen eventually.
Where did the tire roll off to after Jake avoided it? I can just imagine a whole string of near misses.
all of this funny stuff always happens to you guys! that is freaking hilarious! i can just hear it, "jake! watch out! there's a tire coming at us!"
i think i'd die laughing on the spot.
I am really bad about saying words when something like that is going to happen. It usually comes out "buahhlo yahaoma". Then it hits and they get mad for me not telling them.
