Country Living

Sometimes I forget what it's like to live in the country. My parents live on 7 acres of land and live off a road that easily gets up to your shins with snow in the winter. I kind of want to put up a tent in the back yard, but there are some crazy coyotes that come up out of the slew right to the back porch. That doesn't make me want to put up a tent.

Cameron and I are enjoying our days in the country. I love to take him outside and play tag. He thinks he is really getting away with something when he runs in the yard. Of course I am only a step behind him, but he thinks he is free because he doesn't see me. Here are a few things we have done outside at our first week in the country:

  • played tag
  • gone "swimming" (me standing in his wading pool and him shaking his head "no" that he doesn't want to get in)
  • played with pinwheels that spin like crazy in the country wind
  • flying a kite with daddy
  • playing catch
  • collecting treasures (pine cones)

The wind is crisp. The sun is bright. The grass is soft. How can I turn down that 1 year old voice saying "dowdide" and watching him try to put his shoes on the wrong feet.....
