Halloween Parties and Room Parents!

I was called to sub today with a 30 minute notice. I got showered and ready and was at the school 30 minutes after they called and woke me up! (Thanks to Jake for packing my lunch) I really wasn't expecting a call b/c of it being Halloween and the craziness of it all. It turned out to be a good day. After walking into the classroom I was approached by 2 other teachers who both warned me that I had a horrible class. That was encouraging. I just laughed. 3rd grade drama! We had a party at the end of the day! I had a room parent who came with some planned activities. The students did have to sit and stare at their food for 2 minutes in silence b/c they did not make some wise choices earlier in the day. They knew better. Then, we had a great party playing "hot pumpkin" (hot potato) and hangman. They left on the biggest sugar high ever and if you read this, you should probably say a prayer for their parents this evening. It was great to be in the classroom again and it reminded me of growing up and having school parties. My mom was always a room mom and that was a cool thing!
